Children with a Disability

Empowering Children living with a Disability.

The Pooja Kajal Foundation started with the Children with a Disability Project in the village of Bongla, Uttarakhand. These challenges stretch from living circumstances to school education.

The needs and overall well-being of children with a disability is as important as children without a disability. Most of these differently abled children live in poor conditions. Combined with the absence of an adequate diet and nearby treatment facilities, this has a negative impact on their health and mental and social wellbeing.

Their parents have to make dreadful decisions. Against this backdrop the children face their own challenge. The majority of children with a disability are slow learners in combination with their specific health issues. In education they require support as home tuition, special educational material and assistive devices to reach school safely. On health level they require specialist services and long term we all have the ability to contribute to our surroundings, our community and society as a whole.

Update: The project garnered attention from a bigger sponsor and we gladly transferred the project in the interest of the wellbeing of the children.
